Gusts of 110km/h forecast in Galway wind warning

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Galway for Wednesday and Thursday, with gusts of up to 110km/h forecast.

Wednesday’s warning (in place from 6am to 11pm) predicts southerly winds of 50-65km/h with gusts of up 90-110km/h in coastal areas. The warning is also in place for Mayo, Donegal and Kerry.

Another warning is in place for Thursday from 3am until 8pm, as Storm Caroline hits Scotland, and will also generate strong and blustery winds over Ireland. Northwest winds of 55-65km/h are expected to gust 110-110km/h, with the strongest winds in coastal areas and over high ground. The warning also applies to Mayo, Sligo, Donegal, Leitrim, Clare, and Kerry.
