GPO set to be a shopping centre

PROPERTY developers are set to vie for the GPO site on Eglinton Street, following a decision by An Post to put it on the market early next month, the Sentinel can exclusively reveal.

The property — which extends to almost three-quarters of an acre — is expected to sell for at least €25m when it goes up for sale and is likely to become a shopping centre.

As well as the frontage on Eglinton Street, there is access through Abbeygate Street (beside Central Park nightclub), as well as on William Street beside Matt O’Flaherty’s Pharmacy.
