GOVERNMENT URGED TO DELIVER PHASE TWO OF WESTERN RAIL CORRIDOR

The Government needs to "stop making promises and start taking action" to get the next phase of the Western Rail Corridor up and running.

That’s the view of Tuam Chamber of Commerce CEO Sarah Roarty as Tuam Railway Station celebrates its 150th anniversary today.

170 volunteers spent the past few weeks giving the derelict station a major facelift in the lead up to today’s celebrations.

A special ceremony will mark the occasion at the station at 11 o’clock.
