GOVERNMENT SLAMMED FOR CAP ON PLC PLACES AT GALWAY COLLEGE

The demand for places at Galway Technical Institute exceeds supply by a huge margin.

That’s according to figures released by Fine Gael Education spokesman Brian Hayes, who says that
nationally there were almost 37 thousand applications for PLC courses this year.

However due to a Government cap, only 13 thousand places were on offer, according to today’s Irish Times.

65 percent of applicants were not successful in securing a place.
