Government extends contract for Aran Islands air service

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The government has extended its contract for the Aran Islands air service.
The Public Service Obligation contract has been extended until September 2015.
The subsidy is now under review and a report is awaited from Brussels.
Gaeltacht Minister Dinny McGinley has also extended the airstrip management contract by one year.
Galway West Fine Gael TD Sean Kyne told Galway Talks it provides some reassurance following a strong community campaign to retain a vital service.
