GOVERNMENT CONSIDERS FUTURE OF COUNTY WATER SCHEMES

The future of proposed water sewerage schemes in Claregalway and Milltown now lies in the hands of the Government.

A meeting between Minister for the Environment, John Gormley and Galway TDs Micheál Kitt and Noel Grealish took place this week.

Both Galway Deputies have been campaigning to ensure the project is considered for funding and described the meeting as "promising."

The ball is now in the Government’s court as Minister Gormley decides on which schemes to include in the 2010 to 2012 Water Investment Programme.
