GOVERNMENT BUDGET POSES THREAT TO PROPOSED TUAM BYPASS
Date Published: 23-Oct-2008
The proposed Tuam bypass may be at risk because of the current economic crisis, according to County Councillor, Colm Keaveney.
There is concern that the Government will unable to provide the necessary funding for the project to go forward.
Councillor Keaveney says the proposed Tuam inner relief roads have a better chance of going forward, as the project is being driven by Galway County Council.
Funding for the relief roads will be part funded by the development contribution scheme, which will be matched with funds from the Department of Environment.
