Galway Bay fm news – Gort’s new tourist office opened its doors for the first time this afternoon.
The office has been set up by rural tourism organisation ‘The Burren Lowlands,’ and will provide a tourist information service for South Galway.
The premises on the square in Gort has been donated rent-free by local businessmen Michael and Sean Mullins, and will be staffed by volunteers and staff from Galway Rural Development.
It’s hoped the office will open from 10am to 6pm for the duration of the tourism season.
Speaking at the opening this afternoon, Mike Mullins says he donated the unit after witnessing the enthusiasm of the Burren Lowlands group.
