Gort student sells his Leaving Cert notes on eBay
Date Published: 25-Aug-2010
An enterprising student who scored seven As in his Leaving Cert has come up with a novel idea to raise funds for college – by auctioning his study notes on eBay.
There has already been considerable interest in the notes on the internet auction site, where the starting bid for each subject is €40.
Eighteen year old Cillian Fahy, who was a student at Gort Community School, racked up four A1s and three A2s in this year’s exams and is set to begin studying English Literature and Mathematics at Trinity College Dublin next month.
In an attempt to raise money towards college against the backdrop of the economic downturn, the resourceful student decided to sell off his Maths, English, Irish, French, Music and History notes, which helped to score him a whopping 580 points.
Each of the subjects is being auctioned separately, and includes everything from sample answers, completed exam questions, guides to completing projects, revision books and creative writing pieces to essays and completed aural questions.
