GORT BUSINESSES REOPEN AS FLOOD WATER RECEDES
Date Published: 30-Nov-2009
Most businesses at Crowe Street in Gort have re-opened for business as water levels continue to recede.
Six water pumps have also been in operation around the clock, diverting the flood water away from the street.
It’s understood water levels along the N18 have fallen by about five feet, however the road is still closed between Gort and Ardrahan.
Crowe street is also still impassable.
Elsewhere in Gort, homes in Kiltartan and Killamoran remain submerged by the water and clean up operations are underway.
