GORT ALDI STORE TO DOUBLE IN SIZE

The Aldi discount store in Gort is set to almost double in size.

They’ve successfully appealed a refusal by county planners to An Bord Pleanala.

This new extension will increase the size of their store from 1100 square metres to 1600 square metres.

An Bord Pleanala says it would be acceptable in terms of traffic safety and convenience and would not impact other potential shops in the town.

Aldi must also pay Galway county council a financial contribution.
