Good Samaritans put circus back on the road

The story of a vandalised circus van had a happy ending this week when two generous benefactors in the city came forward to donate the necessary cash to have the vehicle fixed.
All four tyres on the Galway Community Circus van were slashed last weekend while it was parked in a quiet residential estate in the Newcastle area of the city.
Workers at the project were devastated at the damage done to the vehicle and local councillors were quick to condemn what was described as “an act of mindless vandalism”.
Project organisers were told it would cost €800 to replace all four tyres on the vehicle — money which the organisation just didn’t have. But within hours of the story circulating the city last Monday, two generous benefactors had come forward to offer their help.
Bosses at both Murphy Sands & Gravel and Mileage Tyres in the city sponsored two tyres each to help get the circus van back on the road.
