GO AHEAD FOR PROGRESS ON GALWAY MAIN DRAINAGE

Minister for the Environment, John Gormley has given Galway City Council approval to prepare Contract Documents for some advance elements of Stage 3 of the Galway Main Drainage Scheme.

The proposed works, costing €2.8 million, will connect many parts of the city, which currently have no wastewater facilities, to the main drainage scheme

Areas such as Nuns Island, Earls Island and Dominick Street in the city, which do not have wastewater treatment facilities at present will be connected to the existing Galway Main Drainage Scheme.
