GMIT TO TAKE HARD STANCE ON UNRULY STUDENTS

Some residents in the Renmore area of the city claim they’re being forced out of their homes by rowdy students.
Local resident associations have been liaising with GMIT and Gardaí over anti-social behaviour and partying in recent weeks.
There are reports of late night revelling and unruly behaviour by young people in estates in the area.
Some residents say they have been forced to sell their homes and move to other areas of the city.
GMIT has launched a campaign called ‘SHUSH’ aimed at advising students to respect their community.
This Renmore resident, Maura told Keith Finnegan today that she has had to move her family to a rented house outside the city.
