Galway Bay fm newsroom – GMIT says the process to deal with matters arising from a report into an alleged incident of cheating at the college ‘is expected to continue for some time’

President of GMIT Michael Carmody received the report of the independent investigation in November.

Letters and relevent documents were issued to a number of individuals in relation to matters arising from the report and individuals are given an opportunity to comment.

No decision has been made on the publication of the report at this time.

Fianna Fail TD Colm Keaveney raised the matter in the Dail over two months ago, saying legal costs had spiralled and called for closure on the issue.

The Galway East TD says the public should be made aware of when the process will be complete.
