GMIT majority chooses to remain affiliated with USI
Galway Bay fm newsroom – 96 percent of students in Galway Mayo Institute of Technology have opted to remain affiliated with the Union of Students in Ireland.
In a recent poll, over a thousand students voted yes to the affiliation.
GMIT Students Union respresents Mayo, Letterfrack, Mountbellew and the main Dublin Road campus in the city.
It’s now the tenth largest member of the USI.
The union’s constitution was also amended to include an Education Officer.
GMIT Student Union President Sam O’Neill says the vote shows that students appreciate national representation.
