GMIT LECTURER SETTLES EMAIL LIBEL CASE

A GMIT lecturer has settled Ireland’s first email libel case.

Terry Casey took a case against two of his bosses at GMIT after they published defamatory remarks about him to 47 of his peers in two emails in January 2005.

Lawyers for GMIT read out an apology to the business studies lecturer in the High Court within the past hour, vindicating his reputation and good name.
