GMIT IN PILOT PROGRAMME TO ATTRACT STUDENTS TO IRELAND

GMIT is to take part in a pilot project aimed at attracting the descendants of Irish nationals abroad, to study in Ireland.

An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, launched the education initiative in Washington this week.

The Irish Homecoming Study Programme aims to attract the descendants of Irish Diaspora here by offering significantly discounted fees.

GMIT is one of 8 Institutes of Technology participating in the programme.
