GLENAMADDY SCHOOL DEPUTATION TO MEET MINISTER FOR EDUCATION

A deputation from Glenamaddy Community School will meet with Minister for Education, Mary Hanafin this Friday, to discuss building a new school in the town.

Over 500 local people including TDs, Micheál Kitt and Noel Treacy attended a public meeting in Glenamaddy last night to discuss the progress of a new school.

All legal and planning issues have been cleared regarding the planned 8 million euro school on a site beside the existing building.

However, there is concern that Minister Hanafin didn’t announce funding for the project last month when funding for other schools projects was announced.
