GLENAMADDY DEATH NOW A MURDER INVESTIGATION

The investigation into the death of a young local man in Glenamaddy early today has is now a murder investigation

The man who died has been named locally as 20 year old Frank Fahy from O’Keefe Park in the town

Mr Fahy was pronounced dead at Roscommon General Hospital at 2.30 am after a suspected stabbing in the Square, Glenamaddy an hour earlier.

His body was removed to a mortuary in Dublin where the state pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post mortem examination

Detectives are continuing to question a 45 year old Scottish man in connection with the death.

Door to door enquiries are also being carried out around the crime scene in the Square Glenamaddy.

Frank is the son of Jonjo and Mary Fahy, and he has a brother Noel and two sisters Grainne and Emer
