GERMAN TRAM SYSTEM COULD OFFER SOLUTION TO GALWAY GRIDLOCK
Date Published: 10-Jul-2009
“It’s time to do away with the myth that Galway is too small for a tram system.”
That’s according to sustainable transport campaigner and researcher Brian Guckian.
He’s found a small German city similar to Galway called Brandenburg an der Havel which has three light rail tram lines.
A feasibility report is due shortly on the light rail options for Galway city.
Brian Guckian says a tram should be put on public display in Eyre Square to dispel the myth Galway is too small for its own tram system.
