Gardaí seize €57,000 in heroin, cocaine and cash in Galway

Gardaí have seized €57,000 worth of heroin and cocaine and cash in Galway City and arrested a man.

The detection was made last Thursday as part of an intelligence-led operation, when Gardaí searched a car in the Newcastle area at around lunchtime.

During the course of the search Gardaí discovered €25,000 worth of heroin, €14,000 worth of cocaine and €18,000 in cash. All drugs are subject to forensic analysis.

A man in his mid-30s was arrested and questioned, and he has since been released, while a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
