GARDAI SEEK OWNERS OF BLACK CAR AFTER FATAL ARDRAHAN CRASH
Date Published: 17-Nov-2012
Gort Gardaí are still looking to speak with the occupants of a black car seen in the Ardrahan area last evening after a local man died following a suspected hit and run.
65 year old Gerard Keane, a farmer, was out walking in the village of Ardrahan when he was allegedly hit by a car close to the traffic lights at around 7:30pm.
He was rushed to University Hospital Galway where he died earlier today. (17/11)
Gort Gardaí are appealing to the drivers or occupants of a black or dark coloured car seen in the area at the time to contact them.
This afternoon Gardaí interviewed the owners of a white van also seen in the area at the time, and have ruled them out of the investigation.
Anyone can assist with the investigation is asked to contact Gort Garda Station on 091-636400 or The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111.
