Gardai seek help to identify body of man found in Oranmore

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man, whose body was found at Tone Island Oranmore yesterday.

The body of the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was discovered during a search for an 18 year old who entered the River Corrib in the city over the weekend.

A teenager entered the river at O’Brien’s Bridge, around 11.30 on Saturday night.

A major search operation involving the Garda water unit, Valentia Coast Guard and the RNLI is underway again today.

Meanwhile, a search in underway in Limerick for 19 year old, NUIG student, Mark Casey from Offaly, who was last seen outside a nightclub last Thursday night.

However, the body discovered in Oranmore yesterday has yet to be identified.

Sergeant Peadar Ryan of Galway Gardaí is hoping someone can identify the man with this description.
