Gardaí receive further information on Domhnall O’Lubhlaí
Galway Bay fm newsroom – A review of the handling of allegations made against Domhnall Ó’Lubhlaí has been delayed as Gardaí have been given further information on the case.
Ó’Lubhlaí, who died in 2013, set up Colaiste na bhFiann- an Irish language school in Rosmuc.
The Garda Commissioner previously directed that the procedures surrounding the handling of the complaints against the former teacher should be examined.
Speaking in the Seanad this afternoon, Galway senator Trevor O’Clochartaigh said a full and thorough investigation is needed into how the case was dealt with.
Speaking on behalf of Minister Fitzgerald, Minister Sean Sherlock said the Gardaí are examining the case – and says the Justice Minister is committed to learn from past mistakes:
