Gardai investigate alleged assault in Lettermullen

The alleged assault happened in Cuigeal sometime between 6 and 6.30 on Wednesday evening.

The woman in her late 60s was assaulted by a man described as between 5-feet-4 inches and 5-feet-5 with grey hair, wearing dark clothing and a hooded type jacket.

She sustained facial injuries in the incident and was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment.
