Gardai identify body found in Kilcolgan

Gardaí have confirmed that remains found in Galway Bay near Kilcolgan last week are those of a woman who had been missing from Doolin.

Maria Hennigar (35) had been reported missing on November 22, but it is understood she had not been seen since earlier that month.

She was originally from Limerick, but had been living in Doolin, Co Clare for some time.

Her body was discovered by a man walking his dog at Tyrone, Kilcolgan on November 29.

The remains had to be identified using forensic testing.
