Date Published: 08-Feb-2013
Gardai are making good progress in their bid to establish the identify of the body of a man recovered from the River Corrib last weekend.
One line of inquiry is now being followed after a renewed public appeal yesterday where further details of the man’s profile were released.
The body of the man, who is thought to be young and Irish, was recovered from the water a mile south of the docks last Saturday morning at around 9.30.
He is described as 6 feet 2 inches in height, of medium build with a weathered complexion.
When recovered from the water, he was wearing a black t-shirt with a picture of an eagle, black combat trousers, a white Nike hoodie and black Oakley trainers sized 12.
The deceased also wore a rosary beads around his neck.
