GARDAI AND LOCAL COMMUNITY FIND SUSPECTS IN ANNAGHDOWN ROBBERY

Up to a 100 local residents in Annaghdown have helped Gardai catch two suspected house burglars.

The two men, believed to be foreign nationals in their late 20’s or early 30’s were caught hiding in a shed in a field not far from where they were disturbed raiding a house in Barana.

A man returned to his house shortly before 11 o’clock and found the men ransacking his home.

A major search operation involving the Garda helicopter was launched after the men fled the scene on foot.

They were arrested shortly after half five this evening following a tip-off from a local farmer.
