Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a road crash in Rahoon earlier today which has left one man with serious injuries.

The man, aged in his 20s and from the Galway area has now been transferred from University Hospital Galway to Beaumount Hospital.

The crash, involving three vehicles, happened at around 5:15 this morning close to the Rahoon cemetry.

Garda investigations indicate the man had driven to the area, and got out of his vehicle to inspect another car, which was the sole vehicle in an earlier minor crash just before 5am.

It’s understood the man parked his car on the main road when the second more serious collision occurred.

Video evidence is now being examined and Supt Noel Kelly of Salthill Garda Station is making an appeal to two drivers who may have been in the area the time.
