GARDA SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR TWO MEN FOLLOWING MILLTOWN CRASH

A garda search for two men is underway this morning following a crash in the Milltown area last night.

Two units of Tuam fire brigade attended the scene of the collision near Belmont School at around 9.15pm.

It’s understood two people were trapped in the vehicle and were taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment.

A search is underway for two other individuals who are believed to have fled from the scene of the incident.

It followed a garda chase across North Galway and South Mayo.

The search has intensified since first light.

Gardai from Tuam and Claremorris stations have been involved in the operation.
