GARDA OMBUDSMAN CONTINUES INVESTIGATION INTO TUAM DEATH

The Garda Ombudsman has yet to release the results of its investigation into the death of a Tuam man who died in Garda custody earlier this year. John T Ward (36) from Gilmartin Rd, and formerly of Moyne Park, Ballyglunin died in Garda custody in Tuam on February 6th. An inquest into Mr Ward’s death can only take place after the Garda Ombudsman releases its findings. However, this is expected to take place in the coming weeks. Mr Ward was arrested on suspicion of public order offences in the Shop Street area. He was taken to Tuam Garda Station where he died at about 4.30am.
