Garda investigation into Rosmuc college founder at advanced stage

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Minister for Defence says the Garda investigation in relation to sex abuse allegations surrounding Dónall Ó Lubhlaí is ‘at an advanced stage’

The former Irish and Religion teacher, who died in March, set up Coláiste na bhFiann language school in Rosmuc.

Allegations against Ó Lubhlaí date as far back as 1955.

An Garda Síochana, the HSE and the Department of Education and Skills have since launched internal investigations.

The matter was raised in the Seanad last evening by Galway Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh.
