GARDA DIVERS SEARCH LOUGH ATALIA AS FOUR STILL HELD IN MURDER ENQUIRY

Garda divers are carrying out a search of Lough Atalia this afternoon as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of 17 year-old Swiss Student Manuela Riedo

The search comes as Gardai continuing to question the four people arrested this morning in connection with the murder near Lough Atalia in Renmore last week

One of the four arrested – a man – is being held on suspicion of the murder while the other three people, two men and a woman are being questioned for with-holding information

All four are in their late twenties and early thirties, all are from the Galway area and all can be held for up to 24 hours before they’re released or charged

Two of the men are being held at Mill Street station in the city. One of this pair is the man arrested on suspicion of the murder and he’s being held under section four of the criminal justice act

The woman is being held held at Gort Garda station while the third man and the last to be arrested, is being held at Loughrea Garda station
