GARDA CHIEF BLAMES HEROIN USERS FOR RISE IN BALLINASLOE BURGLARIES
Date Published: 12-Oct-2010
A recent spate of burglaries in Ballinasloe can be attributed to a small group of heroin users coming to the town.
That’s according to Chief Superintendant of the Galway West Garda Division, Donal O’Cualáin.
A meeting of the County Joint Policing Committee was told this week that burglaries were down 13 per cent across Galway since January.
However Ballinasloe has experienced a spate of burglaries recently – a third of which have resulted in arrests.
