Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after Galway Cathedral was criminally damaged.
Sometime after midnight on Sunday, a section of glass at the front door of the Cathedral was broken.
It’s understood a stone was used to break the glass, which could have been done in an effort to enter the closed building.
The incident set off the alarm, alerting church security and clergy and the culprit had fled the scene before Gardaí arrived.
