Galway’s football freestyler rules the world

A Galway man who had to pack in playing soccer after a succession of injuries has found another path to international glory – as one of the world’s top footballing freestylers.

Conor Reynolds from Turloughmore saw off all competition to be crowned top football freestyler at the Ultimate Freestyle Football Championship in the International Centre in Telford, England earlier this month.

The tournament featured some of Europe’s most gifted freestylers, whose acrobatic tricks with the football dazzled fans and judges alike.

Over 35 challengers from eight different countries battled it out to claim the UFS crown – but thanks to his remarkable display of skill and talent, the Turloughmore native came out on top.

“I was expecting to place in the top three, but I did not go in there expecting to win it,” he admits.

Conor began his football endeavours playing for Cregmore F.C, but after suffering a number of knee injuries, the Turloughmore man turned his sights to freestyle football.

Since then, Conor has seen his name continue to rise in the freestyle football world, as he accumulates more and more of a fan base.

He has amassed over 50,000 followers across his online social media platforms and has travelled the world showcasing his talents.
