Galway’s Christmas Market to return in the same format

Galway City Tribune – Same location, same format and same organisers . . . the city’s annual Christmas Market is set to roll again from November 16 through to December 23.

Proposals that Galway City Council should take over the running of the Christmas market themselves have been shelved, with events company, Milestone Inventive, set once again to produce the event that they have been involved with since 2011.

Maria Moynihan Lee, Managing Director of Milestone Inventive told the Galway City Tribune that they were again looking forward to the staging of what had always been a hugely successful event for the city.

“This event has really worked for the city. It’s been a great success for the local tourism industry from the retailers and traders to accommodation providers,” said Ms Moynihan Lee.

She said that the Eyre Square location was ‘the only one’ for such an event in the city, that, at a conservative estimate, would draw a footfall in excess of 250,000 people.
