Galway youngster singing for the stars

AN up and coming Galway singer and actor is in against four other extremely talented youngsters in RTE’s latest search for a star – through their afternoon television show ICE.
Every week since last September ICE viewers have been voting for their favourite acts in the ICE Star Search. And after a rigorous audition process and several television performance heats just five stars remain, hailing from Dublin, Limerick, Galway and Wicklow.
One of them is John Gaughan, a 14 year old first year student Gort Comprehensive School, is from Kilcolgan and has already enjoyed considerable fame in both music and drama.
He is up against Jamie Hennessy (12) from Lucan; Laura Dillon (12) from Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick; Wallis Hamilton Felton (13) from Greystones, and Allanna Hennessy (13) from Cabra in Dublin.
The fate of these five outstanding contestants lies in the hands of three judges – pop guru Louis Walsh, Westend star of Grease Susan McFadden and 2FM presenter Cormac Battle.
