A Galway woman is appealing for the Government’s help to get out of Gaza.

Treasa Ní Cheannabháin and her 19-year-old daughter Naisrin are stranded on the Palestinian side of the Egyptian border.

Ms Ní Cheannabháín and her daughter who live in Barna had travelled to Gaza to distribute aid to hospitals and orphanages on behalf the Galway-Palestinian Children’s Fund.

They had entered Gaza via the Egyptian border which was opened after a bombing last week.

When they tried to return to Egypt at the border crossing at Rafah they were turned away.
