GALWAY WOMAN AND DAUGHTER GIVEN SAFE PASSAGE TO EYGPT

A mother and daughter from Galway were last night allowed to cross the border from Gaza into Egypt.

Treasa Ní Cheannabháin from Barna made the crossing at 10 o clock, some four hours after her daughter Naisirin.

Safe passage was secured for the mother and daughter after diplomats from the Department of Foreign Affairs held talks with their Egyptian counterparts in Cairo.
