GALWAY WINS INTERNATIONAL GREAT TOWN AWARD

Mayor of Galway Terry O’Flaherty has praised all the stakeholders involved in Galway securing the title of UK & Ireland Great Town of 2013

Galway scooped the coveted title last evening (fri nov 10) at the Academy of Urbanism Annual Awards Ceremony in London

The Academy members include industry-leading architects, planners, engineers, developers and designers

They announced a number of titles including European City of the Year, Great Neighbourhood, Great Street

Galway was one of three finalists for The Great Town category along with English towns Falmouth in Cornwall and Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
