GALWAY WEST TD LOBBIES ARTS MINISTER OVER CITY GALLERY FUNDS

Galway West TD Sean Kyne is lobbying the Arts Minister to provide funding for a city based art gallery.

126 gallery, based in queen street near the harbour, is facing an uncertain future after a reduction in the grant provided by the city council.

This year, its funding is down from 15 thousand to 4 thousand euro.

The county council’s arts section would require a county presence or programme from the gallery to offer funding.

Fine Gael’s Sean Kyne says he has recieved a large volume of submissions on Gallery 126.
