GALWAY WEST – Mayor Crowe concedes defeat

The Mayor of Galway, City Councillor Mike Crowe, has conceded Fianna Fáil will lose a seat in Galway West.

Mayor Crowe said he was “disappointed” with the tallymen results showing both he and former Minister of State Frank Fahey would fail to hold a second seat in the five-seat constituency.

Before the first count was even announced, Mayor Crowe conceded defeat.

He told the Connacht Tribune: “The bottom line is the people of Galway and the people of the country didn’t want to vote Fianna Fáil. The people decide and they decided clearly they didn’t want Fianna Fáil.”
