Galway West 12th Count: Connolly re-elected

Just one seat remains in Galway West following the re-election of Independent candidate Catherine Connolly.
A huge transfer from Social Democrats Niall Ó Tuathail has resulted in Connolly surging past the quota with a surplus of 2,429 votes.
Connolly’s surplus will now be redistributed between Fine Gael’s Hildegarde Naughton and Seán Kyne to determine which of the two sitting TDs will retain their seat and fill the fifth and final seat in the constituency.
