Galway Utd fans group not ready to throw in towel

TWO PEOPLE were rescued from their pleasure craft in Galway Bay on Sunday after its engine broke down.

The powerboat suffered engine trouble shortly before 1pm on Sunday afternoon Ñ soon after, the man and woman on board made contact with the Coastguard.

A four man Galway Lifeboat crew was launched shortly after 1pm and made its way to the stricken craft near Kilcolgan Point about three miles south of Galway Harbour.

The couple were taken on board the lifeboat and their boat was towed back to Galway Docks for repair.

The couple did not require any medical attention.

So far this year the Galway Lifeboat service have been involved in close on 30 successful missions in the Bay area.

The four lifeboat crew involved in SundayÕs mission were: helmsman Brian Niland, Seamus Carter,John Byrne and Kieran Tolan.
