GALWAY UNITED MAY MOVE TO ATHENRY FOR TRAINING

Galway United Football Club could be moving to Athenry from Drum for training purposes.
The Athenry Athletics Club, Athenry FC and Galway United FC joined together to build 5 new pitches and a running track in Athenry.
Galway County Council has given the go-ahead for the major sports training facility.
The training facility in Athenry will have a 400 metre, 8-lane athletic track, two large playing pitches and three smaller pitches.
It’ll also have a clubhouse, playground, floodlighting and car and bus parking areas.
The site for the sports centre is just outside Athenry town and will be used by the local ahtletics and soccer clubs, aswell as Galway United.
