GALWAY UNEMPLOYMENT FIGURE CONTINUES TO RISE

Unemployment figures in Galway rose in the last month of 2011.

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that 139 more people signed on in December in Galway city and county.

The total unemployment figure for Galway now stands at 22 thousand 585.
