Galway tour bus company to ban digital distractions!

A Galway tour bus operator has decided to take a step back in time – with a view to creating a brighter, more peaceful future!

Because Lally Tours this week announced the implementation of its new policy of having no Wi-Fi on board its fleet of buses.

It means their guests exploring the West will be able to fully disconnect from the distractions of the digital world, and fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the Irish countryside.

Lally Tours believes that visitors will benefit from a break from constant digital stimulation and enjoy a more immersive experience when visiting Kylemore Abbey, The Cliffs of Moher, and Connemara National Park.

“We recognise the importance of technology in modern-day life, but we also understand the value of disconnecting and taking time to appreciate the natural world,” said a spokesperson.

They pointed to recent studies which show that a break from constant connectivity can have significant benefits on an individual’s mental and physical health.

They cited a study by the University of California which found that spending time offline can reduce stress levels, improve focus, and increase feelings of happiness and satisfaction.

In addition, a survey conducted by the travel company, Contiki, found that 49% of travellers believe that a digital detox can improve their travel experience. Furthermore, 54% of travellers said that they would pay more for a trip that offered a digital detox option.

Lally Tours say that their No Wi-Fi On Board policy is a response to the growing demand for technology-free travel experiences.

“It will allow visitors to fully disconnect and experience the beauty of the Irish countryside in a way that is not possible when constantly connected to the digital world,” they added.
