GALWAY TOPS LIST OF LAND OFFERED FOR SALE IN 2007

There was more agricultural land offered for sale in Galway than anywhere else in the country in 2007.

8,000 acres went on the market around the county of which 6,000 acres were offered for sale by private treaty.

These figures are revealed in the first ever land price survey report which is due to be published today.

Galway also had the highest number of farms for sale at 179, 16 of which were over 100 acres.

The report shows that the average price of land in Galway was over 19,000 euro per acre.
